A EuroMillions lottery syndicate consisting of six hospital cooks at Neath Port Talbot Hospital have all decided to quit their jobs after they scooped an incredible £25.4 million EuroMillions jackpot win.
Workers at the Neath Port Talbot hospital might be feeling the regret of not joining the local lottery syndicate that won an incredible £25.4 million jackpot, but they insist that there are no hard feelings. The canteen supervisor in the kitchen that the ladies used to work in said that he'd had to cover a few unexpected shifts after they didn't turn up for work, but that he's also very happy for them.
Cheryl Edwards, another cook at the hospital said that 'I could not believe it. It was rumours first of all and then we realised it was the truth.
The six workers who made up the winning syndicate were initially concerned that their coworkers might resent them but their fellow workers insist that there is no bad blood. 'We're absolutely chuffed for them. It was just a syndicate they set up informally, it wasn't like we were all invited to take part in it," said their canteen supervisor.
The members of the winning EuroMillions syndicate were named as Julie Amphlett, 50, Louise Ward, 37, Julie Saunders, 56, Doreen Thompson, 56, Sian Jones, 54 and Jean Cairns, 73.
