The winner, who still has to come forward to claim their prize, matched 07, 10, 15, 44, 49 and the two 'Lucky Stars' 03 and 12, in a Tuesday EuroMillions draw to take the entire £170 million jackpot.
This is the single biggest jackpot ever won in the UK by a single ticket holder. The previous record was a £161 million win in 2011 by Colin and Chris Weir from North Ayrshire, Scotland. The two have since been living a life of luxury across various homes in Europe.
The winner of this incredible jackpot is now wealthier than celebrities like Ed Sheeran, Victoria Beckham and Taylor Swift. Some other things you could pay for with a jackpot this big are a super yacht, a villa in Spain and a trip into outer space.
Andy Carter, who is the senior winner's advisor for the UK Lottery, said “One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped tonight’s enormous £170 million EuroMillions jackpot. They are now the UK’s biggest ever winner."
The EuroMillions lottery has had a good year in terms of winners, with a record five jackpot winners including an anonymous ticket holder who bagged a £121 million jackpot in June.
