What do you look for when booking a hotel room? A nice view, close proximity to the beach or shops, perhaps a few amenities like TV, wi-fi and aircon? If you're anything like us, you're used to booking the basics. Not completely minimalist (we're not savages darling), but not completely over the top either. We do have budgets to think about after all, and sadly ours doesn't extend to first-class stays, let alone suites.
Imagine if money was no object though. If instead of going straight for the best deal, you went straight for the best room, no matter what the price. Just think of the freedom of not having to worry about money - and of being treated like royalty from morning till night! When we win the lottery, that's one of the first things we're doing - booking a stay in an expensive hotel suite, and finding out first-hand what it feels like to be part of the upper class. And if our lotto jackpot is big enough, it might just extend to a stay in one of the world's most luxurious hotel rooms, such as:
If you're looking for luxury then the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Cala di Volpe on Sardinia's Costa Smeralda is it! With three lavish bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private rooftop swimming pool overlooking the exquisite coastline below, and your very own gym, wine cellar and solarium, its price tag of $33,000 per night seems almost reasonable. Almost.
What better place for the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa than in the City of Sin itself - and where better to indulge in sinful relaxation from morning till night! This Las Vegas villa has to be seen to be believed, with two stories of extravagance featuring 9,000 square feet, two king-size and two queen-size rooms, a living room, dining room, 5.5 bathrooms (what's half a bathroom?), and world-class amenities like 11 TVs, an exclusive elevator, a glass-enclosed pool that extends beyond the balcony, and a private butler service too. At $35,000 a night, it doesn't come cheap, but it does come with all the opulence you could dream of!
Penthouse Suite, Cannes - $52,000
Playground of the jetset, Cannes has been a favourite of the glitterati for years - and with a lottery jackpot in tow, you too could join the ranks of these illustrious VIPs. Of course you'll need somewhere to stay when you arrive - and the Grand Hyatt Martinez Hotel has just the room for you. Perhaps 'room' is a slight understatement; in fact, you'll be staying in the Penthouse Suite, one of the largest hotel suites in Europe, and featuring up to four bedrooms, a living room, dining room, marble bathroom, and a 270 square metre private terrace with panoramic views of the Bay of Cannes below. Of course after clubbing all night with your new celebrity friends, you'll want to relax in style the next day - which you'll be able to do with your own private sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath. With so much to recommend it, you won't mind paying the suite's $52,000 daily price tag - and in fact, you might even be tempted to book an extra week while you're at it. Go ahead - we would!
If the thought of so many fabulous hotel rooms to stay in has you packing your bags and your passport, remember that there's one important item you need first - and that's a winning lottery ticket! Get your hands on one at GiantLottos.com in time for the huge weekend draws coming up, and who knows - you could soon be hanging a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on one of the most expensive hotel doorknobs in the world!
