Eight New Zealand Lotto Players Come Forward To Share $50 Million Jackpot

Eight of the 10 winners who will share a New Zealand Powerball jackpot have come forward with their winning tickets to claim their share of the prize.

A total of 10 players will split a $50 million Powerball jackpot after they matched the most lucky numbers in a must-win draw that took place last week. This is the most winners ever in a must-win Powerball draw in New Zealand.

So far eight of the 10 players have come forward with their winning tickets. Lottery officials from Powerball New Zealand are urging players to check their tickets in the hopes of finding the other two jackpot winners.

Two of the winners from Auckland had just started buying lottery tickets. One is a musician who bought his winning ticket after a friend convinced him to play. He will spend his winnings on new guitars and some time in the recording studio.

Another winner is a student who is also from Auckland. He bought tickets for the draw when the jackpot reached $10 million, and kept buying tickets as the jackpot rolled over and reached the $50 million mark.

Both of these young winners also plan on buying their first homes with their winnings. They will also be consulting with a financial advisor to help them invest their winnings.
