In 1990 Andrew Morton won $750,000 in the California State Lottery by using lucky numbers that included the date of birth of his daughter Meghan, the 4th of August 1981. This fortunate stroke of luck meant he no longer had to work long hours and could spend more time doing the things he loved.
He matched 5 lucky numbers to win his prize, which allowed him to spend less time at his job as a Hollywood lighting technician. He also used a portion of his winnings to pay for his daughter's private school education.
It was through attending this private school that would put her on the path to success that would eventually lead her to meet Prince Harry. "That money allowed Meg to go to the best schools and get the best training," said her half-brother Thomas.
He also gifted a portion of his winnings to his other children; he gave a significant sum to his son Thomas who opened up a flower shop, and he bought his other daughter Samantha a new car.
Meghan is now estranged from her 74-year old father who currently lives in Mexico. After marrying into the royal family she has been asked desperately by her half-brother and sister to contact him.
