Lotto Winner's Wife: "I Won't Believe It Until The Check Is In My Hands"

The wife of a man who recently hit a jackpot in the American Powerball is so taken aback with the win that she still can't believe their good fortune.

A couple from the U.S are $200,000 richer after winning a jackpot in their local US Powerball. A few days after buying the ticket the man's wife told him that a winning ticket had been bought from the same shop where he had recently bought his, the man double checked his ticket and after seeing that he had won he calmly exclaimed. "Well, would you look at that."

Speaking to reporter's the man told local news, “My wife still thinks I’m lying about the ticket being a big winner, she refuses to believe it until the check is in her hands!"

His initial win of $50,000 was quadrupled after he also matched the PowerPlay number. He matched four of the five main numbers, as well as a PowerPlay number.

The couple plan on paying off their house and car with a portion of the winnings and also take a long overdue holiday. I’ll let her plan it though,” he told Powerball spokespeople. “I planned the last vacation we had together. It was a bomb.”
