A group of Swansea hospital workers have had a nice respite from the doom and gloom of working in the Covid ward after they bagged a tidy £100,000 payout from the EuroMillions.
The 53 person syndicate played a ticket which matched five of the six lucky numbers, and the bonus number, to win a tier-2 prize which they will divide amongst themselves.
Each member of the syndicate will be banking £2,2227 and they plan of spending their prizes on everything from a much-needed holiday to paying off outstanding debts.
The organiser of the syndicate Kim Owen said that while they never play the EuroMillions, they decided to take a chance on this draw because the jackpot was so high.
She said that, “I usually end up buying the tickets as and when but on the day of this draw, I decided I was going to wait and buy all the tickets at once. I felt like doing something a bit different might bring us a bit of luck – and I was right!"
Lottery syndicates are the best way to play if you want much better odds at winning a prize. This is because members of the lottery syndicates pool their resources together to be able to play more tickets than what they could alone.
After the draw the prizes are then divided between the members of the syndicate. The members who play more shares are entitled to a bigger share of the prize.
