What started off as an ordinary day of housework and cleaning turned into the most unforgettable one of her life after she found a prize winning lottery ticket. And it wasn't just any ordinary lower tier prize, it was a life changing €1 million! She found the winning EuroMillions ticket a few days after Christmas, having bought the ticket on the 27th of October and forgetting about it a few days later.
The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, told local news; "We were away for the weekend in Leitrim and for luck, I always buy a Lotto or EuroMillions ticket when I’m down the country. But I just completely forgot to check it!"
Initially she thought that she had only won a €5,000 raffle prize, and was absolutely shocked when a EuroMillions representative told her that her prize was in fact €1 million. She hasn't decided to go on any crazy shopping sprees just yet, but she does intend on buying a new house and car with her winnings.
She still hasn't fully grasped her new millionaire status, telling local news outlets, "It was the strangest feeling in my life to be told that I had become a millionaire with a ticket I had bought last October, I still cannot believe that this is happening to me."
