China Sees Big Boost In Lottery Ticket Sales

It would seem that lotto fever is taking China by storm after ticket sales rose by nearly 10% in the last year alone.

According to official data provided by China Lottery; ticket sales have risen by 9.4% in the first quarter from last year totaling 104 billion Yuan, which comes to around £11 billion.

March alone has accounted for 40 billion Yuan of 2018's total ticket sales.

China's lotto sales consist of sales from traditional-format lotteries, as well as sports lotteries and welfare lotteries.

Under China's current administrative laws the money raised from lottery ticket sales goes toward prize money, government administrative fees and various public welfare projects.
