This past weekend's Powerball draw saw a massive $750 million on the line and two lucky ticket holders from the U.S are splitting the jackpot.
Officials for the Powerball lottery say that tickets sold in Iowa and New York will be splitting the $750 million jackpot, the fourth largest ever jackpot in U.S lottery history. The total winnings will come to $688 million and will be split between two winning tickets sold in Iowa and New York.
The co-owner of the deli in Manhattan says he probably sold the winning ticket but that he also has no idea who bought it. Whoever bought the ticket from the deli managed to match all six lucky numbers and will be splitting $688 million.
Lottery officials in Iowa say that this prize is the largest ever won in the state. The winning numbers for this draw were 8, 12, 13, 19 and 27, and the Powerball 4.
This win comes less than a week after the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot was won, marking the biggest month ever in terms of international lottery jackpots.
