A week after the initial draw took place the hunt is still on for the big $30 million jackpot winner, who bought the ticket from a newsagent in the east Sydney area. But because the ticket was unregistered lottery officials cannot contact the player directly.
Bronnie Spencer, spokesperson for the OZ Lotto, said that “They could be walking around with the $30 million winning ticket in their back pocket, their handbag or it could be stuck on the fridge right in front of them," while urging players to double-check their tickets.
The draw took place on September 11th and the winning numbers came in at 6, 4, 36, 23, 2, 30, 32 and the supplementary numbers were 11 and 27.
Furthermore, lottery officials have urged all players to register their tickets or buy their tickets online when playing in Australian lotteries. By doing this any time a player wins a prize they will be automatically contacted by an official informing them of their win.
