Brian bought a single ticket from a Shell garage and matched all the lucky numbers to bag the $2 million jackpot. “I scanned my ticket on the app and saw all the zeroes, I couldn’t believe it!” he said in a press release.
This comes less than two weeks after Matthew Poppel, also from Saskatoon, bagged a $55 million jackpot. This was the second-largest jackpot won by anyone in the province.
Brian says the first thing he plans on doing with his winnings is upgrading his wife's car. "I know that she's wanted a new car for awhile, and now I can buy her the car of her dreams", he said.
He also said that he plans on retiring as soon as possible. “It’s been a dream of mine for a while and I’m really looking forward to just taking it easy.”
