Beware of Scams

As a dedicated ticket purchasing agent with a committed global infrastructure, our biggest frustration without question is allaying fear in players because of a small minority who persist with sending out fake lottery winner information to members of the public in the hope of defrauding or blackmailing them.

We continue to advise all our players a in a personal capacity if they are unsure regarding an email received, however spotting email scams is usually easy if you follow the five rules below.
5 Golden Rules:
1.     The most obvious but also most commonly overlooked rule is that YOU PERSONALLY HAVE to enter into a lottery to win it. We know it’s tempting to reply to these "winning notification" emails in order to just be sure which is exactly what these scammers want. Don’t be sucked in. These types of notifications are all scams!

2.     Where has your "winning notification email" been sent from? NEVER respond to an email winning notification from a free email account. Genuine lotteries do not contact winners via free Hotmail or Gmail or similar email accounts! (Example: uklottery@gmail.com, giantlottos@hotmail.com, winningnotifications@live.com or euromillions@btinternet.com etc).

3.     NEVER respond to an email stating you’ve won a lottery but asks you to enter personal information (passport, identity, bank details etc). These scammers are looking for personal details to use for identity fraud purposes.

4.     NEVER keep your winnings a secret until after they are received. Legitimate lotteries never ask you to wait until after you have received your prize money to tell people that you have won, only scammers who wish to protect themselves will request you to keep quiet.

5.     NEVER NEVER respond to an email stating that in order to claim your prize you have to deposit a “processing fee” or similar into a bank account. If you ever win a legitimate lottery, like UK National Lottery or USA Powerball the only money you would ever have to pay is any government tax due, or commission on winnings (if winning through a ticket agent like giantlottos.com). Either way, these fees are always paid out of the winning capital amount and never as an upfront fee.
